From a review by David G. Brown, Director of Library Services at Indiana Bible College.
"It is easy to fall short spiritually when we all live in a world that is, for the most part, governed by non-spiritual motives. Although the Christian walk will be no doubt rewarding, no one should expect it to be easy, but neither should it be approached with dread. Often Christians labor with false concepts of what the Christian life is. Thomas challenges these misconceptions...and challenges the reader to rise to a level of faith that is much more than a series of don'ts.
In the second portion of the work Thomas addresses the idea of a new spirit in new bodies, showing that the main human faculties of eyes, mouth, ears, mind, hands and heart all have a new purpose in God's plan. The last portion of the book is on embracing the high call of God and allowing the personal transformation He will make. Thomas strikes a good balance between grace and holiness [however] the reader needs to be aware there are individuals referenced who practiced a form of Christianity vastly different...and incompatible with Apostolic Christianity.
Who would be enriched by reading this book? Mainly ministers and those in leadership who are loking for a resource on maturing in the Christian walk, along with those members who are established, but desire a higher level of Christian experience. Those individuals who want to take their walk to a higher level, and are willing to do something about it, will be rewarded by digging into this book." |
