Nowhere else in the Bible do we get a better glimpse of a mortal man who followed this Mission Statement better than in the chronicles of the life of King David and the Psalms he composed. David was called a man after God’s own heart. His driving passion was to praise God; when he was in trouble, when he was safe, when he was up, when he was down, when he saw God working, even when he had no clue what God was doing, he offered up PRAISE.
In the book of Psalms, worship takes on many forms; singing, dancing, shouting, with drums, horns, cymbals and harps. (Psa 57,108, 150, etc.) Perhaps the most powerful Psalms show David’s praise to God in a very close and personal way. “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God I will praise His Word) In God I have put my trust…” (Psa 56:3,4)
No matter what the setting, whether you’re alone in your room or you’re worshiping with hundreds, you can say “I SING FOR AN AUDIENCE OF ONE.”
