In the Old Testament, King David arose a great man, a man after God’s own heart. His driving passion was to praise God. He praised God when he was in trouble, when he was safe, whether he was sad or happy, when he saw God working, even when He had no idea what God was up to - He offered up praise. He takes us to new heights in the book of Psalms and teaches us what it means to praise our Father in heaven.
Many of the Psalms describe worship in the congregation of the saints; singing, dancing, shouting, drums, horns, cymbals and harps. (Psa 150, 108, 57, etc.) Perhaps the most powerful Psalms show David’s praise to God in a very personal way. “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His Word), In God I have put my trust...” (Psa 56:3,4)
